Swimwear but “beyond the beach”
Wearing lingerie as outerwear is a trend that has been with us for a while and it keeps reinventing itself. But now it’s time to wear your swimwear to work as the summer returns. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be super sexy and showing off a lot of skin. You can also pull off this trend in a more modest, less showy way. And let’s be honest some swimwear is just too pretty to be hidden under your clothes. We have all these gorgeous swimsuits, but after you’ve been on holiday they’re left in your drawer not getting worn until your next getaway. So why not make the most of them and style them up into a everyday-ready outfit! In the summer swimwear can serve as a 2 in 1, it’s called versatility.
For one, swimwear is designed to be both wet and dry, which is good for the hot human body since most don’t show up sweat. Another big plus is that swimwear is usually more comfortable than lingerie, while still giving the same support. The freedom of movement, the freedom from bras, the blissful memories only a one-piece brings to mind.
You can pretty much wear every swimwear as outerwear. They make great basics for a more casual look or they can dress up your outfit with their fun prints and unique cuts. One-piece swimsuit might be the easiest pieces to incorporate into your wardrobe because they’re literally just bodysuits that can get wet. Just throw on a pair of denim jeans or shorts and you’re good to go. For a more feminine look you can combine it with a denim or a floral midi-skirt. Bikini tops definitely draw more attention, but they make the perfect crop top when you combine them with high waisted pants or skirts.
This is a trend that you can have fun with and most importantly make your own. And who knows if you’ll make an impromptu trip to the beach or get invited to a pool party after work? It’s always good to be prepared. And swimwear are just the perfect transitional pieces from a beachy afternoon to a coffee date.
